When passion meets purpose, our dreams take shape. The story behind Nishika is one such meeting. When I was thinking about what could be the right name for my brand, it occured to me that just like my two children, my brand is also my child. A newborn that needs as much care, time, and attention as my kids. So what could be better than deriving its name from them? So I took fragments of the names of my kids UNHNISH & USHIKA to create Nishika. A name that gave me purpose in the life it derived from my children, a purpose to bring it up with love and dedication.

Little bit of Bengal

Being a brand focused on the delicate craft of the weavers of Bengal, the tagline “Little bit of Bengal”, also resonated well with my vision. It stands as a tribute to the culture and traditions of Bengal, and every customer who wears a Nishika product becomes an ambassador of the unique history and famed art form that carries centuries of heritage. Taken together, the name is a reflection of my passion and the tagline represents the purpose of giving artists the platform they deserve. When they met, the dream was realized.
